I am Heike, a wildlife photographer, photography guide, and the founder of Seen Through My Lenses. On every photography safari, I am personally by your side: helping you see more deeply, photograph with confidence, and experience Africa in a way that feels considered, connected, and unforgettable.

My approach to guiding is shaped by more than four decades in aviation, where I cared for guests from around the world and learned how much difference thoughtful service, calm organisation, and genuine attention can make. Today, I bring that same care to the wild—creating journeys where the logistics feel seamless, the atmosphere feels welcoming, and every guest has the space to be fully present.

As a photographer, I understand the quiet excitement of waiting for the light, the patience required when a sighting unfolds slowly, and the joy of finally pressing the shutter at exactly the right moment. I also know that photography is deeply personal. Whether you are picking up a camera for the first time or have been photographing wildlife for years, I will meet you where you are and help you grow at your own pace.

On a private photography safari, you will not be handed a fixed program and left to follow it. We will shape the journey around your interests, your rhythm, and the images you hope to create. Then, once we are in Africa, I will be there beside you—sharing early mornings, long golden hours, quiet observations, laughter around the campfire, and the extraordinary privilege of witnessing wild animals in their own world.
